Lot #142 1799. B-11; BB-161

Description:

1799. B-11; BB-161. PCGS graded VF-25. CAC. Lightly toned. A Premium Quality example. This is an early die state for the reverse die as there is no sign of the commonly seen die crack at the D of UNITED to the eagle's chest. Another feature is this the "no berries" reverse where the die was literally lapped so much (to remove evidence of die clashing on the reverse die) that the berries literally disappeared from the die! An unusual event to say the least. Nice and pleasing surfaces for any collector to study. Pop 2; 18 finer at PCGS (PCGS # 40052) Estimated Value $1,900 - UP
The Highland Estate.
