1879. PCGS graded Proof 65. A gorgeous gem proof specimen! Lovely violet and electric blue iridescent toning lightening in the centers on both sides. In an older PCGS holder. In our opinion a PQ specimen. Mintages really tailed off in 1879 as the hoarded coins from the Civil War era finally came back into circulation in 1879, hence many smaller silver mintages plummeted for a decade. Only 1100 proofs issued (PCGS # 6440) Estimated Value $1,400 - UP
