Michele Garinei: "Woman Selling Songbirds" Original Oil on Canvas (1871-1960) Popular Italian painter whose works found remarkable demand in America and was well known for his landscape and genre paintings. Here he has captured an old woman feeding a leafy green to a songbird. What stands out is the use of colors and details in her clothing and face, the background almost muted and uncluttered forcing the viewer to take in the grace and humility of his subject. Beautiful work likely painted between 1910-1915. Actual canvas 12 x 16" and in its original gilt wood frame 18 x 22" that is in very fine condition. Estimated Value $500 - 800
