Ellsworth was a framer of the United States Constitution, a United States senator from Connecticut, and a chief justice of the United States. Signed pay voucher by Ellsorth dated April 25th, 1777 to the Aide de Camp to Maj. Gen. Wooster John Cosens Ogden (himself of some note), 37 pounds and ten shillings. Executed on laid paper 6.5 x 8.5" and in exceptional condition.
