Four (4) Very Appealing Indentures During the Years of Charles I, Oliver Cromwell, George I and George III (Dated 1776!). Four indentures spanning the years 1643 to 1776:
1.) Charles I (1600-1649): Single page property indenture involving Thomas Lambe, a radical Baptist preacher, one of the earliest in England and leading member of the Levellers who advocated for a more democratic and egalitarian society. Indenture has dampstaining along one entire fold line with a one inch seam split. Still at 370 years in age, in arguably very good to fine condition.
2.) Oliver Cromwell's Commonwealth Period (1649-1660): Single page indenture with seals involving Thomas Willetts - Elder, Thomas Willetts - Younger and Hugh Petty
3.) George 1 (1660-1727): One page lease indenture with wax seal The First Baron Romney, Samuel Oakley and Robert Marsham
4.) George III (1760-1820) Two page leasehold (2000 years) indenture with three wax seals. Always interesting and certainly a plus when a British document is dated 1776.
