Collection of Civil War Ephemera, Photo Pending. 1.) Invented in 1849 shortly followed by the Minié rifle, the Minié ball came to prominence during the American Civil War where it was found to inflict significantly more serious wounds than earlier round musket balls. Both the American Springfield Model 1861 and the British Pattern 1853 Enfield rifled muskets, the most common weapons found during the American Civil War, used the Minié ball. Offered is a bullet which honestly appear to have teeth marks (Bite the Bullet?)
2.) Confederate Soldier tintype in very good condition. While tintype itself is not compromised, the soft frame and glass all have chips to the four corners.
3.) Civil War 1.5" canister shot projectile or grape shot. Likely this was single projectile from a larger load.
