Both hall marked 84 silver, Moscow and dated in the 1850's, these cups stand apart from most. The shortest cup, 2.5 x 2", is resplendent in deeply engraved by maker A. A. Kovalsky AK/1851. The dense patterns are highlighted by niello enamel making this cup unlike any other piece in auction. The tallest is remarkable work in that the cup has eight distinct sides each one creating a thin panel that have been engraved not only in foliate designs, but each having a small cartouche with townscapes. Cyrillic letters over 1852, Moscow city stamp and marked 84 silver. 3 x 2.25. Both pieces worthy of elite collections. Total 4 ozt.
