Three Sterling Silver Judaica Tzedakah Boxes, 20th Century of Impressive Silver Weight. A grouped lot of three sculptural silver Judaica containers, each of distinct form and design, representing variations on traditional tzedakah (charity) box forms from the 20th century.
The first example is a tall architectural box of rectangular tower form with a domed lid and narrow slot at the top. The hammered surface is finished in a textured, crackled pattern and applied with gilt relief panels depicting Jerusalem architectural scenes on multiple sides. One face is centered with a vertical Hebrew inscription plaque in gilt, framed within an ornamental cartouche. The design evokes synagogue architecture and Holy Land imagery, with the vertical format lending a striking presence.
The second example is a squat, rounded vessel of pouch-like form, closely resembling a ceremonial money bag. Executed in polished silver, it features a domed body encircled by applied twisted "rope" decoration tied in relief at the front, creating the visual impression of a drawstring purse in metal. The top is fitted with a narrow slot for coins.
The third example is a compact barrel-form silver container with a flat lid and narrow slot. The body features vertical segmenting and an applied decorative plaque bearing stylized Hebrew lettering within a scrolling frame.
Total troy ounce weight of all three boxes is 16.70 ozt
Together, the group presents a visually engaging survey of modern Judaica metalwork, combining symbolic Hebrew inscriptions, stylized architecture, and expressive form. All exhibit light to moderate surface wear and handling marks consistent with age and use, with no observed structural damage.
