Chevrah Kadisha Burial Charity Box. An engraved silver charity box associated with the Chevrah Kadisha (Jewish burial society), cylindrical in form with a hinged lid and flared slot mount. The body is richly decorated with Hebrew inscriptions and religious text, while one side is engraved with an elaborate figural scene depicting two robed figures in scholarly or ceremonial dress, likely referencing a biblical or rabbinical narrative.
The upper band is inscribed in Hebrew with devotional text, and the central register bears additional Hebrew inscriptions naming the organization and commemorative details. The box is fitted with a highly decorative scroll-form handle and a silver lid mounted with a raised funnel-like coin receiver.
The surface shows wear consistent with use and age, including scattered scratches, finish wear, and minor blemishes.
