Outstanding 18th Century Continental Charity or Alms Box with Original Painted Figure Likely of Moses. Extremely appealing 18th Century continental wood "charity box" with original paint and details. It appears the words Moshe are spelled out over the man with walking stick likely referencing Moses. The box has a carved handle on the verso where box could be held from behind. The metal latch is still present but the locking mechanisms have long ago rusted. Box weighs 10.5 x 8.25 x 5" and is in very fine antique condition. Displays beautifully. Estimated Value $300 - 500
