Jose Louis Cuevas. "Crime" Suite of 11 Original Lithographs, Each Signed by Artist. (1934-2017) Acclaimed Mexican sculptor (amazing outdoor installations) painter and printmaker, self-taught and frequently controversial given his works were frequently dark exposing the lowest rungs of society. To be frank, Cuevas also produced a great number of self-portraits being accused of unchecked vanity which the press ably assisted making him the most photographed artist in Mexico. He also enjoyed legions of female fans being the bad boy celebrity artist.
Offered is his oversized folio entitled "CRIME" consisting of 11 original lithographs, 22 x 30" with each signed by Cuevas as well as indicated as Artist's Proofs, again by Cuevas. Suite was printed on Imperial Japon Nacre and pulled at the Atelier Mourlot Ltd., New York. Suite and case box in superior condition and again absolutely striking and arresting work.
