Paresi or Parecis people of Brazil, an Arawakan-speaking indigenous group known for farming and mining. Offered is mid 20th Century wraparound cotton headdress with tall blue macaw feather and beautiful multi-color feathers forming florets around base and the six braided danglers attached. Given its age, it has been well kept, colors bold and craftsmanship readily apparent.
Early 20th Century cassowary bone dagger from the Asmat people in Papua, Indonesia. 12". Note carving of bird at top as well as carved details. Appears tip of dagger purposely trimmed to avoid injury. Displays beautifully.
