Lieut. Gen. Sir Henry Clinton, K.B: A Heated Letter to the Commissioners of Public Accounts Emphatically Denying Improper Use of Royal Funds (1730-1795) British general and British Commander in Chief in America (1778-1782). After the war, he became a member of Parliament for several years and authored a book which was very critical of General Cornwallis. In 1784, his last year in Parliament, he penned a letter to the Commissioners of Public Accounts relative to some observations in a seventh report which may be judged to imply censure of Clinton regarding improper use of Royal funds.
