The meteorite has is original ground patina steel gray surface with a few visible regmaglypts. Most available Canyon Diablo meteorites are flakes that weigh just a few grams. The nearly one mile in diameter crater near Winslow, Arizona was created over 50,000 years ago when a 50 foot in diameter meteorite exploded high over the Arizona desert.
