Wernher Von Braun: Brilliant German Rocket Scientist and later a Pioneer of Rocket and Space Technology for the United States. Signed Photo (1912-1977) Von Braun co-developed the V-2 rocked for Nazi Germany during WWII. Following the war, he was secretly moved to the United States, along with about 1,600 other German scientists, engineers, and technicians, as part of Operation Paperclip. When NASA was established in 1958 Von Braun became the leading figure of the development of the Saturn rocket.
