Chanel Costume Jewelry: Early 1980s Sputnik Diamante Style Earrings with plus a Pair of Natasha Stambouli Costume Floral Earrings. Chanel, the Paris based design house that for decades has been one of the leaders of premium fashion and accessories has a remarkably large fan base for their vintage pieces, especially their costume jewelry. Goldberg auctions has sold in the past their necklaces having crystals and different iterations of their logos. But in this lot (top pair in photo) we have our first pair of costume Chanel earrings. The pair, clip on obviously, is a classic design reaching back to the late 1950s even though these were made in 1990-1991 based on the Chanel hallmark inside on an oval medallion in each earring. It is not uncommon to see such pieces command $1500.
