Unique 14K Georgian Revival Ladies Ring with 75 Carat Opal set in Heavy 14K Yellow Gold with Sapphires and Topaz Accents.l. Unique and dramatic 14K yellow gold ring (substantial gold weight) that we are calling Georgian Revival. However it may simply be a fantasy piece combining many European styles and periods. Ring is extraordinarily bold simply in its size. It is centered with at least a 75 carat opal (35 x 23 mm) with fiery greens and pinks throughout. There are two sapphires and two topaz in the corners and two sapphires at the 12 and 6:00 positions on the sides. Flanking the opal on the sides are two small sardonyx cameos. Inside ring is a thick ring guard very likely to assist in supporting the weight of the ring while being worn. It also is flush with the back of opal giving the stone support and stability. The guard is inscribed with "Fr L To MC" in a baroque font.
This ring is one of the most unique pieces of jewelry we have been consigned in years. It likely was worn on the index finger and looked damn impressive.
Ring measures 36.25 x 28mm and weighs 35.5 grams.
