Richard Strauss: Two Autograph Letters Signed and One Signed Cabinet Card (1864-1949) Extraordinary child prodigy in composition and leading figure of the late Romantic and early Modern era. His most celebrated operas, include Der Rosenkavalier, Salome, and Elektra and thanks to Stanley Kubrick in "2001: a space odyssey", Also Sprach Zarathustra a composition from 1896 inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche novel Thus Spoke Zarathustra beginning with the first chapter, "Sunrise". Offered are two, untranslated ALS each boldly signed at conclusion by Strauss and both letters in excellent condition. The signed cabinet card approximately 8 x 6" is in good condition. The photo is brittle and has cracks from folds. Strauss signed in black fountain pen ink just above the white printed signature visible at bottom of photo. Still quite rare in just about any condition.
