Ty Cobb: Superb Historic Aviation Cover Signed Boldly by One of the Most Feared Competitors in Baseball. (1886-1961) "The Georgia Peach" and during his time one of the most feared competitors in baseball. He still holds batting records decades after playing. He was one of the original inductees into the Hall of Fame along with Babe Ruth, Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson, and Walter Johnson. While stories about Cobb's intensity, competitiveness, and disposition to brawl, he was far far less abusive than his reputation initially tried to paint him. Yes humorless, but he demanded excellence on the field and that is to be admired. Further, after his death, several low-life biographers tried to paint him as a violent racist when in fact he supported segregation. He proved himself a legend in baseball. Offered is a signed historic aviation cover commemorating the first Air Mail from Cleveland to Buffalo to Philadelphia. The cover is signed by the pilot and postmaster. These historic covers were prized at the time and sending one to be autographed by a star, a sportsman or politician very frequently given special consideration. Cover has been authenticated very recently by PSA/DNA and displays beautifully. This item sold last auction but went unpaid. Estimated Value $5,000 - 8,000 Montana's Ranch Collection.
