Louis Lozowick. Three Lithographs: "Warsaw Market", "Fisherman Widows" and "Dubrovnik" Limited Edition Signed and Numbered Works. (1892-1973) Ukranian/American painter. He is recognized as an Art Deco and precisionist artist, who created mostly urban-inpired monochromatic lithographs in a career that spanned 50 years. Offering three works by Lozowick that excel in how he could reduce and entire community into fragmented images to be taken as a whole. "Warsaw Market" captures workers setting up for market in the foreground with an image of the street-lined vendors in the background. "Fisherman Widows" the widows themselves clearly left an impression with the artist when visiting Portugal. He has captured their isolation in a remarkable abstract way emphasized by an empty boat in the distance. Finally "Dubrovnik" he is taken by the hard edges reflected in the architecture, something the artist excelled in with his galvaninizing cityscapes of New York. "Warsaw Market" #4 of 20 is dated 1937 17 x 12" and matted to 24 x 18". "Widows", 18/20", 1968, 14 x 17" and matted to 20 x 24". Dubrovnik 20/20, 1970 13.5 x 12.5" and matted to 19.25 x 19". All three works are in excellent condition. Estimated Value $500 - 800
