Alton Mfg. Trevaise Iridescent Vase in Amethyst, Silver and Blue. An Alton Manufacturing Co. vase refers to rare antique "Trevaise" art glass produced in Massachusetts, around 1907. These iridescent, highly collectible pieces closely resemble Tiffany Favrile glass because the company hired former Tiffany "gaffer" (head glass blower) James H. Grady. ca. 1907-1908 Knockout colors and beautifully styled vase rivals Tiffany Typical, the vase has no hallmark but has the button/wafer-style applied disk with a polished pontil mark on the bottom. It is also bit heavier than Tiffany. 7 x 6 x 6" with no chips, cracks or repairs. An outstanding example of early 1900s American art glass.
