Émile Gallé Glazed Earthenware and Faience Molded Vase with an Incredible Allegorical Figure in Superior Detail. While Gallé is world-renowned for his artistry with cameo glass. Prior, his studio in Nancy, France he produced tin-glazed earthenware and faience featuring molded reliefs of allegorical figures with naturalistic plant and flower motifs in the romantic and symbolic Art Nouveau styling. Obviously this is a very rare piece from Gallé's early years. It signed EG pressed into a small dollop of glazed faience pressed onto the underside of vase. 17.5 x 14 x 8 with no chips, cracks or repairs which in itself is something of a miracle. Know the opposite side of vase are near life-size nasturtiums, blooms in reds, yellow and orange and beautifully executed. Indeed this vase appears it is Barbotine Majolica, very popular at the time, however this is a signed Gallé work. "Due to the considerable number of art glass lots, shipping may take 2-4 weeks from the date of payment. We thank you for your patience. We want every piece to arrive safely.
