New England Glass Company, Pomona Glass, Three (3) Outstanding Bowls. The New England Glass Company was a popular 19th-century American glassworks company in East Cambridge, Massachusetts founded in 1819. They produced a great many lines of art glass and these three pieces. Pomona glass was developed by Joseph Locke (1846-1936) and patented in 1885. It was colorless glass, mold-blown repeatedly, partly etched and stained amber or rose some decorated. These examples are pristine with no chips, cracks or repairs with the ruffled bowl decorated in a garland of gold and silver leaves is classic Pomona Glass.
