Steuben "Aurene" Three Prong Stump Vase in Iridescent Blue and Green. Steuben Glassworks was founded in 1903 by Frederick Carder and Thomas G. Hawkes in Corning, New York, which is in Steuben County. There are many pieces in this auction from this storied glassworks company. From 1903 to 1930, Carder and Hawkes developed their "aurene" line making a run at Tiffany and their iridescent art glass. Offered is a fantastic, brilliantly designed vase consisting of three "tree stumps" that hold flowers in dazzling blue and green iridescent glass. 6 x 4 x 4" and having no chips, cracks or repairs. on underside of base is Steuben and Aurene 2744 in black enamel writing.
