Steuben Glass "Aurene" Cobalt Blue Vase with Green, Gold and Lavender Vines. Steuben Glassworks was founded in 1903 by Frederick Carder and Thomas G. Hawkes in Corning, New York, which is in Steuben County. There are many pieces in this auction from this storied glassworks company. From 1903 to 1930, Carder and Hawkes developed their "aurene" line making a run at Tiffany and their iridescent art glass. Offered is a vase by Steuben clearly inspired by Tiffany's model. However, Steuben's distinct cobalt blue proved very popular given how well the color contrasted the iridescent heart shapes in silver pinks and blues. 7.5 x 4 x 4" with no chips, cracks or repairs. "Due to the considerable number of art glass lots, shipping may take 2-4 weeks from the date of payment. We thank you for your patience. We want every piece to arrive safely. Local pick up encouraged." Estimated Value $300 - 500 From the Premiere Collection of Lori Nelson, Film and Television Actress.
