Royal Flemish Mt. Washington Two-Handled Vase with Roman Coin Medallions in Gilt Gold Enamel. An Outstanding Piece. A superb example of the rare high end Royal Flemish medallion bowl by the Mt. Washington Glass Co. in Massachusetts between 1894-1900. Clearly rare this short vase or bowl is surrounded by gilt gold medals/coins of a distinctly ancient Roman style. Royal Flemish ware feature heavy, frosted or colored textured glass surfaces divided into paneled sections by raised gold lines. The effect is akin to stained glass and the work is remarkable. 4 x 6 x 6", no chips, cracks or repairs and certainly a must for any level of collector of antique American glass.
