Ladies 14K Yellow Gold, Tanzanite and Diamond Hinged Bracelet. Tanzanite is a lovely semi-precious stone that was discovered in 1967 in Tanzania near Mt. Kilimanjaro and named by Tiffany & Co. The intense blue-violet stones are the rarest and prized, but the soft-violet stones still have an enduring appeal. Frequently described as the color of Elizabeth Taylor's eyes (quite accurate) the stones do capture the light well and have a watery tone. Each pear shaped, modified brilliant cut tanzanite total 6.88 carats with 18 small diamonds totaling .73 carats. Hinged bracelet has a very stout clasp, safety lock and safety chain.
