Lot #318 Exceptional Sterling Silver & Turquoise Peyote Bird/Eagle Style Squash Blossom Necklace.

Description:

Exceptional Sterling Silver & Turquoise Peyote Bird/Eagle Style Squash Blossom Necklace. Superior craftsmanship very much in evidence in this Zuni squash blossom style necklace. Twelve (12) eagle/peyote bird styled "blossoms" having intricate turquoise and red coral inlays flank a slightly larger, fully aloft bird. What makes this particular piece is that the elements are smaller than normally crafted. The necklace is in no way overwhelming like many one sees in galleries. Necklace is 24" with the 12 flanking birds 1.25" in length, the center bird is 1.5 x 1.5" and necklace weight 3.25 troy ounces. Estimated Value $700 - 1,000 Jewelry from Lori Mann, 1950's star of film and television.
