Pair of Outstanding, Gaétan Beauchamp, Reverse Scrimshaw Knives on Buffalo Horn of a Leopard and Tiger Eyes. Gaétan Beauchamp's studio is in Stoneham, Canada and sold his first knife in 1992. He specializes in working folding and fixed blade knives with ATS 34, 440C, and Damascus steel blades as well as remarkable art on his scales through reverse scrimshaw. The artist must think in reverse, focusing on highlights and light areas instead of shadows, making the subject look like it is "bursting out of the dark". Offered are two complimenting fixed blade knives. The longest is 9.75" with a 5" blade with scales made of water buffalo horn and reverse scrimshaw of a tiger's eyes on one side of knife. The slightly shorter knife is 9" in length with a 4.5" blade and beautifully rendered leopard's eye on one side. While all the scales are water buffalo horn, the plain sides are jet black with no art. Both sheaths are embossed leather and very durable. Mint condition all four pieces. Estimated Value $700 - 1,200
