Lot #764 Shin Bet State Medal

Description:

Shin Bet State Medal (1973). Israel's internal security and counterintelligence service. Extremely rare, 59mm, silver-plated. Described as follows in Rosenblum Sale 47A: Type with menorah and Hebrew legend. "General Defence Services" to the left. Haffner lists this as coming in tombac, however the only three other pieces I have seen (or perhaps this is one of the three), have also been silver-plated. Of extreme rarity. This is ex 32E #1084 where it sold for $625. It is estimated that less than 10 of these exist. Estimated Value $300 - UP Holyland Sale of the Century.
