Sweitzer, Albert (1875-1965). Alsatian born philosopher, musician and mission doctor. Schweitzer won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952 for his efforts on behalf of "the Brotherhood of Nations." He used the accompanying proceeds to help expand his hospital in French Equatorial Africa, building a leper colony.
