[Washington, George], "Invoice of Sundry goods to be shipped by Rob.t Cary Esq.r and Company for the use of George Washington," 4 pages, 12¾ x 8 inches, [Mount Vernon], Sept. 20, 1759. Written in a secretarial hand.
In addition to the usual cloth, clothing, fabric, tools, spirits, and pins are busts of Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Prince Eugene and the Duke of Marlborough, as well as busts of wild beasts and small ornaments for a chimney piece. Additionally: "…40 Yds Course Jeans or justians for summer frocks for Negro Servants" and "1/2 dozen pr. coarse strong thread hose fit for Negro Servants……"
