1771 Counterfeit British Halfpenny Reverse Brockage VF30. Choice glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Smooth and attractive, void of any notable defects. A reverse brockage strike with a very slightly off center incuse impression of the reverse where the obverse should have been. This occurs when a struck coin remains in the press as a new blank planchet is inserted and struck. The result is a "normal" impression on the side struck by the die and an incuse impression on the opposite side from the previously struck coin that remained in the press. A very attractive example of this type of mint error. Weight 83.0 grains.
Estimated Value $200-UP.
