1788 Massachusetts Cent Ryder 3-A Rarity-4 PCGS graded AU55. Glossy chocolate brown blending with lighter brown toning in protected areas, especially on the eagle side. The surfaces are smooth and nearly flawless except for some very fine striations near the left side of the rim on both sides, as struck. These striations are strongest from the date to MAS. The only contact mark is a rim nick just past the last S in MASSACHUSETTS, and this nick is difficult to see in the slab. The bottom edge of the date is tight to the rim but everything else is bold, including the shield on the eagle's breast.
Estimated Value $600-UP.
