1796 S-97 R3 Draped Bust VG7. Clipped Planchet. Several points sharper but covered with very fine roughness, strongest under NT in CENT. No verdigris, and the only marks are some faint hairline scratches in the field before the portrait. Rather glossy dark steel with lighter steel brown toning on the highpoints. EDS, before any die cracks. The date is bold and the legends are clear. A curved planchet clip is located just left of the date and over the opposing AT in STATES.
