1797 S-128 R3 M over E in AMERICA VG8. Sharpness F12 or slightly better but there are a few patches of shallow corrosion and pitting on both sides, particularly at the rims over LI in LIBERTY, NI in UNITED, and TA in STATES. Specks of greenish verdigris accompany the rough patches. No significant contact marks other than a nick between the 9 and 7 in the date. Rather glossy reddish chocolate brown and darker olive with lighter brown toning on some of the devices. The date is bold and the legends are strong, including the M over E error in AMERICA. MDS.
