1801 S-219 R2 3-Error Reverse F15. Sharpness VF30 but burnished and retoned an attractive glossy light chocolate brown with traces of frosty lighter golden brown toning in some of the protected areas. There are traces of very light roughness in the field before the portrait but the remainder of the planchet is quite smooth. A tiny rim nick over the second S in STATES is a good identifying mark, but it is barely visible. MDS, Breen state IV. The 3 die-cutter errors are clear, although the 000 denominator is a bit weak due to the usual die failure in that spot. A decent example of the popular 3-error reverse variety in spite of the old cleaning.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
