1827 N-11 R1 MS64. Lustrous mint red fading to steel brown and olive on the devices with nearly half the original mint color remaining. A beautiful, original cent that offers outstanding eye appeal. The only marks are a speck of darker steel toning nestled between the feet of the E & R in LIBERTY and very faint traces of an old fingerprint around star 13 and the T in CENT. MDS with a small lump from die crumbling on the forehead but none under the nose. The dentils at star 2 are weak thanks to a very tiny mint-made planchet clip at that spot, but the remainder of the obverse dentils are strong. A premium cent, certainly one of the finest known for the variety.
Estimated Value $1,500-UP.
