1831 N-2 R2 Small Letters Reverse MS64. Highly lustrous bluish steel. Satiny mint frost covers the entire surface and the eye appeal is outstanding. No spots or stains, and the only mark of any significance is a very light nick in the field just right of the date. Late die state with a small rim cud that extends just inside the dentils at star 11. The obverse is very slightly misaligned to K-1 while the reverse is well centered on the planchet. Called MS63 choice and tied for CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #21440. Bland says MS60+ and tied for CC#2. Comes with a great provenance.
Removed from a PCGS slab graded MS65BN (PCGS label included, and it shows the attribution and Naftzger provenance).
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
