1835 N-14 R2 Head of 1836 MS63. Lustrous light bluish steel brown and tan blending to light olive on the obverse. Traces of underlying faded mint color remain visible, especially on the reverse. Satiny mint frost covers the planchet extending to the highest points of the design. The only marks are a few delicate puffs of darker olive and steel toning on the obverse, including one in the field above the right edge of star 2 and another on the neck near the curl, plus a planchet flake on the rim over the right edge of the M in AMERICA. LDS. The dies are worn and the tiny lump on the base of T in CENT is nearly gone. Clear doubling caused by die bounce shows along the back edge of the ear. Comes with an old provenance.
Estimated Value $1,500-UP.
