Page 2 devotes a total of two and one-half columns to the deaths of Adams and Jefferson, announcing "the death of two of the greatest men of our country….John Adams and Thomas Jefferson are no more. They were confessedly the most distinguished men in the civil department of our Government…." There is a long report on the "Death of John Adams" and reports from the
New York Champion and the
Philadelphia National Gazette on the death of Thomas Jefferson, which occurred some four hours before John Adams'. Overall very good.
