Also signed by explorer Lincoln Ellsworth (1880-1951) who, with Amundsen and Umberto Nobile, had flown across the North Pole just a month earlier. In 1928, Amundsen (1872-1928) would be lost on a flight to rescue Nobile. Accompanied by four 11½ x 18½ photo albums containing approximately 560 black and white period photos of Greenland including ships, buildings, natives, mountain scenery, aerial shots, icebergs, the Aurora Borealis, dogs, men in the camps, Sonderstromfjord and vicinity, Angmagssalik, etc. Should be seen in person to be appreciated.
