1795 C-5b R4 Thick Planchet AG3. Clipped Planchet. Smooth and free of any notable defects, just heavily worn. Lightly cleaned and retoned a slightly glossy medium brown and light olive blending to olive brown in protected areas. The date is faint at best but LIBERTY and at least half of the reverse legends remain readable. A curved planchet clip (the curve of the clip matches that of a large cent) reaches well inside the dentils off the chin and the opposing ones at AMER. Struck on a cut-down spoiled large cent weighing 101.5 grains.
Estimated Value $100-UP.
