1803 C-4 R4 VF35. Triple Struck Obverse. EF40 sharpness but there are some light contact marks at the top of the wreath plus a few more scattered over both sides, none notable but more than you expect for an EF40 coin. Glossy chocolate brown with lots of frosty light brown toning in protected areas and an area of darker olive brown toning in the field before the chin. The obverse was struck three times with a small offset between impressions of no more than a half millimeter. Nonetheless evidence of the three strikes is clearly evident on the date and all devices. The reverse, however, shows no trace of more than a single strike, and the fields on that side are slightly prooflike. The reverse is rotated 10 degrees CW.
