1805 C-4 R2 Large 5 with Stems VF20. Sharpness EF45 or slightly better but three dark spots of fine carbon along the front of the portrait were crudely scratched off leaving bright copper that certainly catches your eye. There are some additional spots of fine carbon on the obverse, mostly in the field behind the portrait, and fortunately these were left alone. Lustrous light chocolate and steel with overtones of bluish steel; perhaps lightly cleaned long ago. Sharply struck MDS, Manley state 2.0 early. There is a fine crack through the bust tip but it does not reach the 5. This one may benefit from a proper retoning to a more uniform color.
