1807 C-1 R1 VG7. Triple Struck Off Center. Glossy chocolate with frosty lighter brown in protected areas, possibly from an old cleaning. Smooth and attractive for the grade. The only mark is a small nick on the bust tip. LDS, Manley state 3.0. Struck normally, then struck again 90-95% off center leaving the bottoms of 807 in an arc above LI in LIBERTY. In addition there is clear doubling along the back of the portrait and along the truncation above the date, and this suggests a third strike. There is fine doubling on the reverse and some weakness opposite the obverse tab strike but no evidence of a real strike at that spot. Another really neat multiple mint error. Obviously Carvin loved them.
Estimated Value $100-UP.
