1809 C-4 R2 Recut 0 F15. Tab Double Strike. Attractive glossy chocolate brown. Double struck. The first strike was normal and centered on the planchet. The second strike was 90-95% off center creating a tab right of the date. The obverse of the tab was impressed against a new blank planchet and the reverse was against the die leaving clear dentils on the rim. The tab was lightly tapped down to return the coin to a more normal round appearance, as often seen on tab strikes such as this. MDS, Manley state 1.0. The small 0 inside the normal 0 in the date is clear.
