1809 C-5 R1 Repunched 9 VF35. Tab Double Strike. Ten points sharper but there are numerous dull marks on the edge at the tab where it was partially tapped down. Otherwise the surfaces are quite nice, void of any notable distractions. Frosty steel brown and chocolate. M-LDS, Manley state 2.0. Only a few areas of the obverse show dentils, and they are weak, and the lump under the second A in AMERICA is faint. Double struck 90% off center creating a tab at stars 6 & 7 and at the opposing area at the top of UN. The obverse was pressed against a blank planchet during the second strike while the reverse tab was struck by the die leaving the tops of "OF" and an arc of dentils clearly visible in the tab. Another dramatic mint error.
