1839/6 N-1 R3+ Overdate 9 over 6 (or Inverted 9) VG10. Slightly sharper but dark olive and steel with very fine roughness under the rather glossy patina. There are traces of shallow verdigris in some of the protected areas including a small patch near the hair under star 8. The only notable mark is a shallow planchet flake on the rim over the first T in STATES. Very late die state (VLDS), Newcomb state III late, with a strong bisecting die crack across the obverse. A neat die state. The 9 over 6 overdate feature is strong.
