Robert Edge Pine (1730-1788) was an English portrait and historical painter. He went to America around 1784 and painted portraits of America's Founding Fathers, including Charles Carroll, Robert Morris, George Read, Thomas Stone, and George Washington (1785). Pine died before finishing his historical painting, "Congress Voting Independence"; it was finished by Edward Savage and now hangs in Independence Hall. Ex Claude Harkins Collection.
